Q. Why Wine Country Walking Tours?

A. We are the original fine wine and foodie walking tour company in Healdsburg, Our company’s strong partnerships with the area wineries and gourmet food artisans allow us to provide the most creative and one of a kind experiences for you.

We have “Join in” times where you can join a tour already in progress, something no other walking tour accommodates.

Q. What is a Wine Country Walking Tour?

A. Wine Country Walking Tour is the most comprehensive way for you to taste your way through the wine country. We combine the wine tastings you are most passionate about with the culinary delights for which this region is so widely recognized in a fun and intimate walking tour.

You will explore the charming and historic downtown area of Healdsburg on foot. While sipping award winning wines paired with delicious bites, you can chat first hand with the local wine makers and mingle with the locals. Listen to the stories told of ages long ago and learn about the trendiest places of today. We will meander our way down the side streets for generously sized tastes from several neighborhood restaurants or culinary shops and will be treated to so much more.

Q. Do I have to purchase in advance?

A. Our tours fill up quickly in the summer & autumn months and we encourage you to purchase your tour in advance so we can offer your preferred date. You can purchase your tour by booking online or calling us directly at 707-758-4725 . We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover.

We do accept same day bookings by phone only provided we have space available, making us the only wine and food walking tour in the area offering this.

Q. Do you accept cash payment?

A. Cash payment is accepted only for same day tours or if you will be joining a tour already in progress via our “Join In” option. The tour guide can accept cash or Visa, Master Card, America Express or Discover.

Q. Where do you offer your tour?

A. We currently offer four tours in Healdsburg, CA.  Join our email list to keep current on new tour announcements.

Q. How long do the tours run?

A. We offer two 4-hour tours and one 2-hour evening tour in downtown Healdsburg.  We have been known to linger a little longer for those folks who are enjoying our company!! It’s all good fun!

Q. Is there a lot of walking?

A. No, we walk less than 1 mile with many of the stops only steps away from each other however by the end of the tour you will have explored many of the local’s favorites.

Q. Do the tours take place if it’s raining?

A. Our tours run rain or shine. If you already have a reservation and prefer not to join us due to rain, you need to contact us by 4:00 p.m. the day before your tour. A $15 rescheduling fee/person may apply.

Q. Are your Wine Country Walking Tours for locals or tourists?

A. Our tours are for both locals and visitors. We have many locals on our tours who tell us time and time again that they learned so much about the area and found new favorite places previously unexplored. In fact, recently a volunteer from the Healdsburg Chamber of Commerce told us, after joining us on one of our tours, she delighted to see Healdsburg in a whole new way!

This tour is fabulous for a date activity, a way to share your neighborhood with visiting friends and family, a bridal shower, or birthday celebration with friends on a private tour, or host an out-of-the office gathering of coworkers or executive retreat.

Q. Are all costs included with the price of the tour?

A. YES! Once you book your tour, all food, drinks, tasting fees and activities on the tour are included except for our Sip, Savor & Stoll Healdsburg Tour where the cost of the lunch is not included.

Q. What about tips, are they included?

A. Gratuity for any wine tasting service or restaurant is included with your tour, but feel free to tip your tour guide to let them know they did a fantastic job!

Q. What if I need to reschedule or cancel my tour?

A. Because of our small size, cancellations affect us dearly.  Cancellations made 15 calendar days prior to tour date will receive a 50% refund and are valid only with a cancellation confirmation email from Wine Country Walking Tours. Cancellations received less than 15 days prior to tour date will be charged the entire amount of the tour. No refunds will be made. Tickets do not expire and you may reschedule your tour for any of our tours.  A $10/ticket processing fee applies when rescheduling.  You may also transfer your reservation to a friend or relative if you notify us via email, (

Effective October 1, 2016 we will no longer offer refunds.  For purchases beginning October 1, 2016, you may transfer (gift) your ticket however a refund is not available.  Ticket never expires.  Your ticket purchase is similar to purchasing a ticket to the theater, concert, or sporting event. If you have purchased your ticket prior to October 1, 2016 the above refund and cancellation policy applies.

Q. Where does each Wine Country Walking Tours begin?

A. Once you have booked your tour, you will be sent an email confirmation detailing the specific meeting location. We ask that you arrive 15 minutes before your start time.

Q. How large are the tour groups?

A. Our tour groups range from 2 – 8 guests and are typically smaller and more intimate than commercial tours which leaves plenty of opportunity for interaction with your guide.

Q. What if I have dietary restrictions or allergies?

A. Please be sure and let us know if you (or anyone in your group) has a dietary restriction (e.g. vegetarian, diabetic, allergy, etc.) when you purchase your tour. As long as we know in advance, we can accommodate your needs.

Q. Are Gift Certificates available?

A. Yes, all Wine Country Walking Tours are available as gift certificates. They are transferable and the value can be applied towards any tour.

Q. What about wheelchair accessibility?

A. All of our tours are wheelchair accessible.
